Next week at the Specialty Equipment Market Association (SEMA) Show in Las Vegas, the D3 Group from California will unleash the very aptly named Le Monstre.

This heavily-modified Cadillac CTS-V produces a freakish 1,001 horsepower and 1,000 lb-ft of torque. How is that possible? Well, plenty of work was performed on the CTS-V's supercharged engine such as increasing the displacement from 6.2 to 7.0 litres.

In order to help the car handle the extra output, key improvements were made to the chassis and suspension. Meanwhile, Toyo Proxes T1R ultra high-performance tires (front: 275/30ZR20; rear: 345/25ZR20) will allow Le Monstre to shred corners into pieces.

We'll find out just how scary good this new machine can be when it participates in Time Attack events throughout 2012.
