RETTmobil, the leading European trade fair for emergency services and mobility, took place from May 11 to 13, 2011. While Mercedes-Benz seized the opportunity to unveil its new SLS AMG Ambulance, BMW further showcased its commitment to helping firefighters, emergency service workers and paramedics.
This might surprise you, but the Bavarian automaker draws on decades of experience in developing and building emergency vehicles for both German and international fire and emergency services. As a regular exhibitor at RETTmobil, BMW presented a broad selection of products and technologies, including cars and motorcycles, that meet a wide range of emergency service requirements.
Their main attraction this year was a specially-designed BMW 5-Series Touring that integrates a special signal system into the iDrive control interface. Both the lightbar and siren can be operated intuitively using the iDrive controls.
