The 2008 6-Series coupe and cabriolet models get freshened exteriors including headlights and taillamps. The standard-equipment list grows with the addition of 19-inch wheels, Comfort Access, adaptive headlights, active headrests and an improved version of iDrive. Optional equipment includes the 6-speed automatic which now gets wheel-mounted paddle shifters, active cruise control with Stop and Go technology, and Night Vision. A new high-output sound system is also available; called Dirac Live, it offers 825 watts of sound through 16 speakers (12 in the cabriolet). The price of the 2008 6-Series is unchanged from the 2007 model.
M6 coupe and cabriolet models also get the cosmetic updates, as well as standard heated steering wheel and soft-close doors. The Dirac Live system is also available in the M6, and pricing remains unchanged.
The 7-Series is back for 2008 with no changes, and pricing remains the same as the 2007 model. The 500-hp Alpina B7 is no longer available.
The 2008 X3 is carried over with minimal changes. All models get active headrests and the 3.0si model gets standard 18-inch wheels. The only changes for the bigger X5 is the addition of standard active headrests and a new optional Premium Sound Package with 16 speakers, USB integration and a 6-CD changer that supports multiple audio formats including DVD-Audio. X5 pricing for 2008 remains the same as last year's models.
The Z4 roadster loses its base 3.0i model, and the 3.0si model gets changes to its equipment list to lower its base price. Seventeen-inch Turbine Spoke alloys are now standard, while the power-operated top, heated seats and Chrome Line interior have been repackaged as options. Pricing will be announced at the end of the 2007.
Finally, the only change for the M Roadster and M Coupe concerns the optional Premium Package; BMW Assist and Bluetooth Wireless Technology replaced the THX Certified sound system. 2008 pricing has not yet been announced.
