Aerodynamic components of my car were damaged as a result. A piece of the rear spoiler even rubbed up against the tire for a while, rendering the car impossible to drive and releasing a thick trail of blue smoke. It thankfully fell off a short time later. But I was still stuck with sub-par performances and a huge grip deficiency in back.
Hard to stay competitive in those conditions. But I battled on and did what I could with a broken car. My sixth place finish earned me three points, which is something – it could have been a lot worse.
I now have to concentrate on the rest of the championship, in particular the next race at Brands Hatch where we’ll weigh the same as the Audis.
The short, twisty British track isn’t my favourite, but I’ll do everything I can to get the best possible results. Then we’ll see about the championship.
Take care,
