Cadillac unveils the Elevated Velocity concept this week, a 2+2 electric SUV concept focused on performance and the in-car experience.
Design and architecture
The all-electric concept adopts a raised stance and butterfly doors for easier access, whilst sitting on 24-inch wheels. The bluish body (Vapor Blue) contrasts with a red interior composed of leathers and technical textiles. The front and rear lighting signature is redesigned compared to the Caddy EVs we know.
The in-car experience
Three ambiances structure the interface and functions:
Welcome Mode greets passengers with dedicated lighting and automated door opening.
Elevate Mode activates autonomous driving; the steering wheel and pedals retract, the lighting turns red, and comfort functions like air purification and light therapy take over.
Velocity Mode puts the focus back on driving with essential information and an augmented reality head-up display.
Driving modes and technologies
For the road, e-Velocity prioritizes responsiveness. In off-road driving, Terra relies on an air suspension. Aids complete the package, namely Sand Vision to improve visibility in sandstorms and Elements Defy to limit dust adhesion via a "dust-phobic" vibration.
What this means for Cadillac
This prototype is not intended to lead to a production model. Rather, it serves as a laboratory for the future of the V-Series DNA, combining performance, comfort and immersive technologies. No detailed technical specifications have been announced at this time.
The Elevated Velocity concept will be showcased at The Quail event in Carmel, part of Monterey Car Week in California, on August 15, 2025.
