The Canadian Grand Prix is once again holding the famous Bridgestone Open-Doors Day. Fans have the opportunity to experience Formula One racing from up close by touring the pit lane and paddocks. They can meet with teams and get a closer look at all the fabulous race cars.

This day is always very appreciated by F1 enthusiasts, with literally thousands of them taking the facilities by storm. It's estimated that more than 10,000 visitors from all over the world are walking through the pit lane at Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve at any given moment.

F1 racing teams are usually very secretive but not this time around. They give the public access to their crew and cars. Engineers are working and applying final touches on the cars before drivers can hit the track for a couple of test laps. Some drivers are also available to meet fans; this morning, Force India's Giancarlo Fisichella and Andrian Sutil made brief appearances.

Montreal is one of the rare GPs in the racing season where fans are authorized to wander near the track like this. The public's civility and discipline allow organizers to bring back the event year after year. No one tries to step in restricted areas or act irresponsibly, which makes everybody involved quite pleased.
