In the end, Lombardi Honda’s 2011 season away from the CTCC will only have been temporary.
They kept themselves busy –racing (and winning) in the Super Production Challenge and the odd national round– but are back for more Canadian glory in 2012.
With no less than six cars.
May be it was the calendar, featuring two Circuit Gilles-Villeneuve races (at the F1 and NASCAR weekends), may be it was the addition of a new entry-level class.
Or just may be it was the fact the series will air on Sportsnet.
Whatever it is, CTCC President John Bondar managed to lure Lombardi Honda Racing back.
Race team boss and driver Benjamin Distaulo, and rookies Éric Lacouture and Roger Ledoux will drive the three Super Touring cars of the team, while Jacques Bélanger and Michel Dulong duke it out in the touring class.
Simon Dion-Viens will be aboard the squad’s new B-Spec class Honda Fit.
