Two potential race winners were forced into retirement before the first lap of the race was even completed. Pole position holder Marc-Antoine Camirand, in a BMW Z3, pulled into the pits with mechanical problems at the end of the formation lap.

Moments later, Nick Wittmer also ran into problems and went stright into the pits.

The green was given but on lap 3, JC Cote lost control of his Pontiac Solstice between corner 1 and 2. The Pontiac went head on straight into the concrete wall. The brutal impact destroyed the front end of the car.

After 21 laps (of which several were run under the yellows), Anis crossed the line in first place ahead of Mathieu Audette (Acura RSX-R) and Dave Ciekiewicz (Subaru Impreza STI). It was a brilliant drive from Audette who took the start back in 31st place!

Bob Attrell (Hyundai Genesis V6) was fourth in front of Greg Pootmans (BMW 330i), who started the race in 36th position, and Auto123.com’s Nigel Heron piloting a Honda Civic Si for team Lombardi.
