Nick Wittmer became Sunday the first Quebecker to win the Super Touring championship of the Castrol Canadian Touring Car Championship. The exploit is even more impressive – in some points – that he did so only with consistency as he did not win a single race this season – having been disqualified from the only one he was actually classified first at.

Two wins in two races for Auto123.com's Nigel Heron in the Touring Class.

Greg Pootmans and Étienne Borgeat once again stole the show this week-end by exchanging wins. Pootmans took Saturday’s victory, leaving Sunday’s to his teammate who only passed him in the last minutes of the race. David Bensadoun completed both podiums.

As of Wittmer, he finished fifth Saturday and forth Sunday. He could have pushed Bensadoun more on Sunday, but having only to finish in the top-10 to win the title, he played it safe in the last couple of minutes.

In the Touring division, Alain Lauzière finally took the 2009 title after being pushed out of the race on Saturday and coming back from the last spot on the grid to finish second on Sunday.

Nigel Heron took both victories, Saturday in front of Anthony and André Rapone and Sunday in front of Lauzière and Tom Kwok – whom happened to be the cause of Lauzière’s accidental DNF on Saturday.
