2009 Toyota Corolla/Matrix Preview
The world's number one automaker took advantage of the 2007 SEMA Show in Las Vegas to unveil its upcoming 2009 Corolla and Matrix. Built by Toyota Motor Manufacturing Canada (TMMC) in Cambridge, Ontario, both new models represent a significant milestone in Toyota's North American history. The year was 1966 when the Corolla made its debut this side of the Pacific. Thirty-six years later, in 2002, the Matrix rolled out of the TMMC assembly lines -- the only plant in the world where it is manufactured. Over the years, more than 2 million Corollas have been sold. The Matrix, meanwhile, managed to sell about 460,000 units in just over five years.
