A Subaru Impreza among the ten cars most likely to create a buzz in 2017? You might think I’ve become slightly unhinged, and in fact I would have shared your surprise at this prospect, had I not driven this new iteration of the Impreza. Especially considering that the previous version offered acceleration that was louder than it was fleet, road handling that could most generously be described as adequate, and a driving experience unlikely to excite motorists who actually want to enjoy their time behind the wheel.
Forget about all these pre-conceived notions! This generation of the Impreza is built on an all-new platform, which by the way will be used for future models. The difference is significant, and it would not be a surprise to see this model gain in market share in Canada, especially when you consider its standard all-wheel drive that is tailor-made for our difficult weather conditions. Not only that, but the design of the new Impreza is notably less generic than previous incarnations.
