Following the introduction of the Camaro Coupe Concept at last year's show, GM is planning to maintain the hype surrounding their much anticipated sports car with a drop-top version. Enthusiasts and Sunday Driver's alike will be able to get their hands on a Coupe by 2009 and the Convertible later on the same year.
Physically, the Convertible retains the same exterior dimensions as the Coupe with only a slight modification to the windshield surround to accommodate the top. Although the Concept's Hugger Orange pearl tri-coat color is a modern interpretation of the paint scheme offered in 1969, the 21" front and 22" rear wheels were certainly not on the options list. The remainder of the convertible's features are identical to the Coupe's including the intricate dashboard and the 6.0L V8 with the 6-speed manual transmission.
