Two weeks ago, General Motors announced that the all-new Chevrolet Spark EV will go on sale in 2013. Now, we can also safely say that the electric microcar will pack more fireworks than its gasoline-powered sibling.
In a press release detailing the Spark EV's powertrain, GM confirmed a permanent magnet electric motor will be rated at 114 horsepower (85 kW) or 31 more than the 83 hp generated by the gas-powered, 1.2-litre, non-electric Spark.
So, the higher-performing 2013 Chevrolet Spark EV will serve as more than just a green alternative for buyers when it arrives in showrooms next year.
