The 2019 Chevrolet Volt will debut in the fall

The Chevrolet Volt will enjoy significant changes for 2019 and General Motors has just detailed them.

The highlight is the availability of a 7.2 kW charging system that doubles the energy transfer compared to that of the current model. Now, a full charge can be completed in just over two hours with a 240 volt plug.

Chevrolet has also reworked the automatic engine-assisted heating system. Drivers will be able to use battery power alone in temperatures as low as 55 degrees outside.

The 2019 Volt will also feature a reengineered regenerative braking system that increases battery charging as the driver lets off the accelerator.

Inside, the third generation of the Chevy Infotainment multimedia system is now on board, featuring an eight-inch touch screen, a new rear view camera, tire-fill alerts and an adaptive cruise control system that is driver-switchable.

The 2019 Volt will be available starting this fall.
