The ZL1, the most potent Camaro in the history of GM, will be catering to sun worshippers with a drop-top version at the end of 2012.
Like the coupe, it will feature a 6.2-litre, supercharged V8 punching out 580 hp and 556 lb-ft of torque.
It will also benefit from goodies like an adjustable suspension and a performance management system, making for one very special Camaro.
A few changes were made, however, to ensure the ZL1 offers driving dynamics and soundproofing similar to the coupe.
On paper, the car has no cause to envy the competition. In terms of power and torque it outranks the likes of the 2012 Aston Martin DB9 Volante, 2012 Mercedes SL63 AMG, 2011 Porsche 911 Turbo S and 2011 Ford Shelby GT500.
The 2012 Camaro ZL1 proved it can strut some serious stuff in real-world conditions, having blasted around the famous Nürburgring in just 7:41.27 minutes.
A lap time that proves beyond a doubt that the muscle car can keep up with the cream of the automotive crop.
