In response to the UAW's ratification results, Chrysler has confirmed a new national labor agreement. Chrysler and the UAW reached a tentative agreement on October 10, after three months of bargaining which came down to a 6.5 hour strike on that day.
Tom LaSorda, Vice Chairman and President at Chrysler LLC, says "We are pleased that our UAW employees recognize that the new agreement meets the needs of the company and its employees by providing a framework to improve our long-term manufacturing competitiveness."
UAW officials say that Chrysler has committed to keeping most of its operations facilities running, and also identified more than $15 billion in potential investments.
