The Power and Convenience Pack (which also requires the separate purchase of the power passenger seat on the 2.5-litre model) includes a garage door opener, an automatic dimming inside mirror, rain sensing wipers, power lumbar support on both seats, 70/30 split-fold rear seats, a message center and trip computer, reverse park control, and the pre-wiring for voice activation.
If you have the Power and Convenience Package, you can also order the navigation system at $3,900.
The Winter pack includes heated front seats and a heated windshield, and a headlight cleaning system.
The Sport Pack delivers different wheels, decorative trim, and an upgraded suspension. It also allows you to spend another $1,000 on dynamic stability control.
Jaguar Canada president Russ Reynolds hopes a model as inexpensive as this will move his brand onto shopping lists it never before visited.
"With X-Type, we're changing the way a new generation of buyers will look at Jaguar," Reynolds says. "The X-Type is a sport sedan that offers performance, style and luxury at a price that will challenge consumers' perceptions. With this car, Jaguar will be more accessible than ever, yet as aspirational as always."
This is the most significant new-car launch in Jaguar's history, Reynolds notes, and is the fourth model in the company's expanding and improving product range. "With more than 15 new and revised product introductions over the next 36 months," Reynolds says, "Jaguar Canada is anticipating continued sales growth between now and 2004."
