BMW Concept E

This time, the use of the word prototype is practically an overstatement. This is, in concrete terms, a Series 1 BMW to which they’ve attached an electric drive similar to that of the Mini E. And even if they call it a prototype, it’s virtually a series vehicle: a few hundred of them will be rented out to clients to confirm the viability of the project.

BMW takes great pride in having successfully created an electric car capable of comfortably accommodating four people and still feature a normal amount of cargo space despite the presence of electric packs, with an engine built into the rear axle and producing 170 hp. It allows the concept to peak at 145 km/h and jump from 0 to 100 km/h in less than nine seconds.

Hyundai Blue Will

It looks like it came straight out of a science-fiction movie, but the Hyundai Blue Will is just a heartbeat away from becoming a reality. Admittedly, Hyundai had already presented it at the Seoul Motor Show and the little machine is equipped with a hybrid system launched last year at the Los Angeles show. So it’s not exactly “brand” new.

The Blue Will is the Korean version of a plug-in hybrid. It features both a conventional gas engine and an electric engine. Its small four-cylinder, 1.6-litre, 136-hp mill uses direct injection. However, the car can travel up to 64 km powered solely by its 100-kilowatt electric generator.
