Toyota FT ev II
While not new and basically overlooked, overshadowed as it was by the FT-CH, Toyota’s FT ev II is nonetheless very impressive. Unveiled at the Tokyo Motor Show and inspired from the IQ, it’s a completely electric version. This munchkin (under 3 metres long) can accommodate four people, as long as the fourth passenger is on the small side.
The prototype is powered by an electric generator as well as a lithium-ion battery pack located under the floor. Toyota claims it can reach maximum speeds over 100 km/h and has a range of 90 km.
Oh, and don’t bother looking for a steering wheel or pedals. They’ve been trumped by a joystick.
