With the Ford Crown Victoria set to retire after decades of serving and protecting citizens, Dodge hopes to break through the highly-lucrative police car market by introducing the all-new 2012 Charger Pursuit.
Two engines are available, including a 3.6-litre Pentastar V6, which delivers 292 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque, and the legendary 5.7-litre HEMI V8, rated at 370 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque. In both cases, Dodge promises much more fuel efficiency than the old Crown Victoria.
Offering exemplary ride and handling, the Charger Pursuit features a performance-tuned suspension, heavy-duty ABS, front and rear stabilizer bars, 18-inch performance tires on steel wheels and two-mode, police-specific Electronic Stability Control.
Police corps ordering a Charger Pursuit will also have a wide array of Mopar parts and packages to choose from.
