Jamie Green (Mercedes) won the last round of the DTM championship in Hockenheim. Canadian driver Bruno Spengler (Mercedes) takes 9th position, and concludes the season in third place overall.
Miguel Molina set his second pole position this season, but the Spaniard was passed by both Jamie Green and Martin Tomczyk at the start. The Brit and the german driver pulled away in front, and secured first and second at the finish line, while Molina got his first podium finish.
The championship battle was already over since Valencia, where Tomczyk secured championship win before the last round in Hockenheim. But Bruno Spengler and Mattias Ekström were in fight for runner-up position.
Spengler stood second in provisional classification, but dropped down to third after the race, which he concluded at a disappointing 9th place. The Canadian driver was 6th on the grid, but lost positions in the first lap. Ekström, who started from 10th place, made a great come back to 6th position at the finish.
Jamie Green’s victory was the last one with the current technical regulation, before the new cars will make their debuts in 2012.
