Organisers of the DTM and Japanese Super GT have concluded a deal allowing a collaboration between the two series from 2014.

From 2014 to 2017, the DTM will be open to Japanese car manufacturers involved in the Super GT series such as Honda, Nissan and Toyota.

A common technical regulation will be in place for four years. But, regarding the differences that are existing between the cars of the two championships, especially in terms of engine concepts, the cars will be categorised according to a "Balance of Performance" (BOP) system for a transitional period.

In the future, joint technical working groups and circles will hold meetings to create the basis for a continuous exchange of information.
