The new BMW M3 DTM, the car the German car manufacturer is going to race in its DTM comeback next year made its first roll-out on the BMW testing ground in Aschheim.
“With the roll-out, we have made another step on our way to the 2012 season kick-off. And many others will follow,” said BMW’s new Motorsport Director Jens Marquardt.
“The car we have used for the roll-out and the concept car that will be showcased on 15th July in Munich represent the basis we are going to build on, in the coming months. Up to the first race, the appearance of our car certainly will change significantly,” he added.
The roll-out was the temporary highlight in the design and development process of the BMW M3 DTM - a process that went absolutely according to plan it is said.
Before long, the BMW will begin the testing programme with the car used for the roll-out. Afterwards, further testing vehicles will be built one by one to then be handed over to the three BMW teams: BMW Team Schnitzer, BMW Team RBM and BMW Team RMG.
