New cars are incredibly sophisticated and far more capable than one would think. Manufacturers like to prove this fact by sending some of their products on seemingly impossible adventures where “normal” cars dare not tread. 

One such quest involves a handy and very capable Subaru XV Crosstrek and Canada’s Arctic circle. Corinne Copreni and Jess Watt of Team Offtrax headed out northbound this past weekend in their stripped Crosstrek for a three-week trip as part of their lifelong pursuit of global exploration.

The all-girl team that is Team Offtrax has been at the game of exploring the Earth for a while and now, it’s North America’s turn. Their plans involve snorkelling with salmon in BC to sand-boarding in the Yukon and trekking through Inuvik. 

The 2015 Subaru XV Crosstrek should have no difficulties with this road trip. The only issue we can foresee are flat tires once they get to really rough terrain. This car does in fact have 220mm of ground clearance, or as much or more than many so called utility vehicles. In fact, it should be a breeze.
