Very special tests
In conducting its research the eTV program has gathered a small, non-standard fleet of vehicles over the years, most of which have never been launched in Canada. The nature of this fleet becomes more apparent once you realize what it's made up of: several "clean" diesel cars, including a small BMW 120d, a smart roadster and a crossblade, a Peugeot 206 s16 HDi 100 and a Honda Accord Tourer i-CTDi, electric vehicles like the Mitsubishi i MiEV and the Segway, and even a Ford Focus FCEV and a GMC Sierra 1500 pickup, both powered by a hydrogen fuel cell.

In conducting its research the eTV program has gathered a small, non-standard fleet of vehicles over the years.

We got to drive some of these energy-efficient vehicles during the Blainville information session, some of which are little known here like the Volkswagen Polo BlueMotion and the plug-in Toyoto Prius featuring the A123Systems Hymotion conversion module. We also tested a Subary Legacy PZEV sedan that, unlike the others, has already been part of our automotive landscape for almost a year now. But we also got the chance to drive a Vectrix electric scooter produced by our southern neighbours as well as the BionX electric bike built right here in Canada - eTV doesn't stop at automobiles.

Over the next few days we'll be publishing on Auto123.com and Moto123.com reviews about the vehicles we tested, so stay tuned!
