the T2X and Captiva to its European counterparts to form Opel and Vauxhall versions, which will feature completely different interiors, exteriors, and possibly even powertrains. The future Frontera will feature seven-seat capability via 'Flex-7' hide-away seating. This kind of platform sharing isn't new to GM: Epsilon and Delta architecture created a variety of different vehicles.

Things start to get a little bit confusing concerning the logistics, but hopefully it will all become clear in a minute. The Captiva and T2X will not be sold in North America, despite the fact that they've got golden bowties fixed to the grille and tail end. Instead, we'll be getting the Opel/Vauxhall versions fitted

with North American engines, to be produced in the United States. The Opel Antara GTC Concept, which GM leader Bob Lutz revealed would indeed be the next Saturn VUE, is related directly to the Captiva/T2X in architecture.

Given the fact that both the two-door and four-door models have been given the green light, one further question has been raised: will we be getting both versions for North America? The answer is uncertain. GM's compact SUV lineup once consisted of the Suzuki Sidekick-based Chevy (Geo) Tracker, a vehicle that was later based on the Vitara and Grand Vitara models in three and five-door variants. GM hasn't announced any plans to offer any variant of the all-new Grand Vitara, so there's a good probability that both versions of GMDAT 'ute will be offered here. Nevertheless, time will ultimately tell, and the clock is counting down to their launch so we may not have to wait much longer.
