Pagani Zonda F Roadster

could have stood for many things, the most obvious of which are 'Fast', 'Frightening' or 'Ferocious'. Instead, this bespoke Italian supercar maker chose to dedicate the car to the late, legendary Grand Prix racer, Fangio, as in the one and only Juan Manuel. And just like Ferrari which used its Enzo supercar as a tribute to the company's founder, Pagani is commemorating the five-time world champion with its finest sports car (although Fangio was not the founder of Pagani nor ever drove one).

On first inspection, the F looks almost exactly like the standard Zonda Roadster, however, a good side-by-side analysis shows that the F is a dramatically different beast. Like the F Coupe, the Roadster has spent a great deal of time in the wind tunnel to hone the shape of its body to improve aerodynamics. The F Roadster's body is made of beautiful, unpainted carbon fibre, and features chrome-molybdenum roll hoops for rollover protection.

from the fact that Juan Manuel drove open-cockpit racers, if he were alive today he wouldn't have settled for merely special wind-sculpted bodywork; back then, the only thing wind tunnels were used for were airplanes. As such, Pagani has made some visceral changes to the car, upping the Mercedes-Benz sourced engine to a whopping 650-horsepower and 780 lb-ft of torque, countered by new, fade-free carbon ceramic disc brakes. Larger wheels and tires provide the necessary grip to harness the newly added power.

As with every Pagani product, the Zonda F is lovingly handcrafted with heart and soul in a small workshop in Modena, Italy. Only a handful of F Roadsters will be built, making it one of the world's most exclusive vehicles. Pricing is expected to start at over $1,000,000 US dollars, also making it one of the world's most expensive vehicles, bar Bugatti's ultimate 1001-horsepower chariot, the Veyron.
