Indian motor sport federation president Vicky Chandhok is concerned that the chosen April 22nd slot in the 2012 F1 calendar may cause headaches to the teams as it is a very hot time of the year in India.
Chandhok, father of Indian driver Karun Chandhok, says only May is a hotter month in Dehli, on average. Temperatures are frequently just below 40 degrees centigrade during the month of April, he says.
Chandhok hopes F1 reconsiders a date in March or in the closing months of its 2012 calendar, as it will be this year for its first Grand Prix in history, on October 30th.
The new track, which will be inspected by Charlie Whiting in September for final approval, includes a 1.2 kilometres straight and three corners "following the new FIA guidelines to encourage overtaking," said Chandhok.
