From Ferrari
In a brief ceremony today at Silverstone, the Ferrari Gestione Sportiva’s new logo was revealed to the press in the run up to the British Grand Prix, the tenth round of the Formula 1 World Championship.
The new logo will be featured on all its team and car branding from the start of next season.
Ferrari and sponsor Marlboro agreed to remove the bar code design from its car earlier this year after suggestions, strongly denied by the team, that it was subliminal tobacco advertising.
Along with Felipe Massa and Fernando Alonso, who arrived at the English track today, Stefano Domenicali explained why Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro had chosen to reveal the new logo at the English circuit.
“We chose Silverstone because it was here in 1951 that Ferrari took its first Formula 1 win with Jose Froilan Gonzalez. Although revealed today, the new logo will make its debut next season, starting in January and will be visible on all elements of the racing department; the cars, team kit, driver race suits and all initiatives linked to the Ferrari Driver Academy, so that the new design will be linked to all future Ferrari’s racing activities.”
