F1: Results of the test sessions in Bahrein and Jerez

Ferrari driver Kimi Raikkonen and Toro Rosso's Sébastien Bourdais led the way in the two Formula 1 private test sessions held Friday in Bahrein and Jerez.

There was still a lot of sand in the pit lane of the Bahrein circuit.

Bahein

Finnish driver Kimi Raikkonen led the way for Ferrari during testing in Bahrain, as the weather cleared to finally allow the teams present to get some running. Kimi topped the times for Ferrari, just edging out Toyota's Jarno Trulli as both completed a large amount of mileage. BMW's reserve driver Christian Klien ranked third in his first time in the F1.09.

Jerez
En Jerez, Spain Lewis Hamilton helped McLaren set the fastest time of the 2009 cars during the final day of this week's test. Although Sébastien Bourdais was guaranteed the top position as his Scuderia Toro Rosso outfit were alone in running their 2008 car, it was left to Hamilton and Renault's Fernando Alonso to lead the way with the new cars.

Alonso finally enjoyed a productive day; setting competitive times to confirm the progress the team has made this week. His time was just 2/10ths of a second slower than Hamilton's.
