Based on a Audette Racing Press Release
Quebecker Rémy Audette, whose main priority in 2011 is the American Formula 2000 Championship, has crossed the half-point in the season as the leader of the series' standing.
American driver Chris Livengood won the first of the two races ran this weekend on the Mid-Ohio course while he was unable to finish the second one.
Other championship contender Kyle Connery did exactly the opposite leaving Audette, with a 5th and a 7th place finish despite mechanical issues, in great position in the standing.
“We can’t win every race, obviously, but I have to admit this might be the toughest weekend we’ve had so far this season,” admitted Audette.
“Compared to the six first races where we were constantly within the top-4, this is a bit of a deception.
“However, we know that a title is won with consistency and my main rivals were in a much worst position than I this weekend so we did well overall,” he added.
The next two rounds will take place in Mosport, Ontario, on July 23-24. It will be the only Canadian races of the season as the American Le Mans series visit the popular Ontarian track.
