It’s not rare to see the first copy of a limited-edition model be sold at a car auction, and this one is no exception. On June 23-25, Barrett-Jackson will sell the prototype of the 2016 Ford Shelby GT-H, a special project that will have a production run of only 170 units.

This new Shelby was designed to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the first Ford, Hertz, and Shelby American car. The trio worked together to create a unique model that we first saw at the 2016 New York Auto Show earlier this spring.

Under the black body with gold stripes is a 5.0L V8 engine mated to a 6-speed automatic transmission. Numerous performance components are part of the package including unique shock absorbers and stabilizer bars, plus exclusive 19” wheels. The interior was specially upgraded for the Shelby GT-H.

Will you be the lucky bidder who gets to take it home?
