Will gasoline-only cars actually be banned in Norway, one of the world’s top oil producers, by 2025? At least that’s the plan according to AutoGuide

The four main parties of the Norwegian government have voted in favour of making gas-powered vehicles illegal on the road by 2025.

In case you didn’t know, Norway is obsessed with electrified cars, which represent 24% of total new-car registrations in the country. Canada only has about 20,000 such vehicles, half of which are in Quebec alone.

If the bill passes senate approval, Norway will become the first country on the planet to outlaw gasoline-only cars. India wants to achieve a similar goal by 2030, while the Netherlands have also thought about it.
