GP2: Filippi and Vietoris win final rounds in Monza

Luca Filippi and Christian Vietoris were the winners of the last two rounds of the GP2 championship held this weekend at Monza.

Filippi started from second position in race 1, and moved up into the lead at the start of the race ahead of poleman Charles Pic. The Italian driver quickly pulled away in front of the pack, and eventually took victory.

Charles Pic capsecond place after he had to defend his position from  Romain Grosjean, who has already clinched title in Spa.

Jules Bianchi took eighth place in race 1, which put him on pole position for race 2.

But the Frenchman was passed by both Christian Vietoris and Fabio Leimer at the start. The order remained unchanged until the checkered flag, and Vietoris took his second success of the season.

Race 1 winner Luca Filippi had a contact with Charles Pic at the start. The Frenchman was forced to retire, the Italian driver was able to return in action to take 5th, which put him in second position behind Romain Grosjean in final championship classification.
