The 2011 GP3 Series calendar will not comprise Monaco in 2011 due to a lack of space to fit the thirty-car paddock in an already crowded environment.

The 2011 season will be now made of eight rounds, from Istanbul to Monza, alongside Formula One and GP2 Series.

An additional two-day test session has been added to this calendar in June (date and venue to be confirmed shortly) bringing the number of testing days up to twelve in total, increasing valuable mileage for the young drivers.

GP3 Series’ CEO Bruno Michel said: “It is an unfortunate situation. We were really hoping to bring GP3 to Monaco this season and we all tried our hardest to make this happen, but the lack of space this year meant that we have to postpone. However, we are very eager to make it happen sooner or later.”
