The opening round of the 2011 GT1 world championship will be presented this week-end at Abu Dhabi circuit.
After Michael Bartels and Andrea Bertolini clinched title at the wheel of their MC12 last season, Maserati won’t be represented in this year’s championship.
20 cars on the grid in 2011, including the following models (two cars per team) : Aston Martin DBR9 (Teams Hexis AMR and Young Driver AMR), Ford GT (Marc VDS and Belgian Racing), Lamborghini Murcielago (Swiss Racing and All Inkl Münich), and Nissan GT-R (Sumo Power and JR Motorsport).
Among the drivers, several former-F1 drivers: Karl Wendlinger (Lamborghini Swiss Team), Riccardo Zonta and Enrique Bernoldi (Nissan Sumo Power), David Brabham (Nissan Sumo) and Markus Winkelhock (former DTM-driver, Lambo All-Inkl).
