The Italian company should still be considered a premium brand, even though it is now owned by Chem China (some Pirelli tires now come to us from China, though its new Mexican plant in Silao is dedicated to producing for the North American market).
The best quality of this company's products is their grip on the road. The base tire is the Pirelli P4, but performance car fans will go for the (expensive) P Zero. For environmentally conscious drivers, Pirelli produces the Verde line with low rolling friction resistance. For SUVs, Pirelli offers the Scorpion.
Since Pirelli's tires are mostly performance-oriented (they make tires for Formula One racing), you can expect them to wear out a bit faster, even though they advertise a higher mileage guarantee.
