Here are our recommendations for winter tires for trucks this year.

Nokian and Nordman
Nokian, the Finnish champion of winter tires, also has a specialized line for trucks and SUVs: the Outpost. Initially produced in Russia, it’s now made in the U.S. (for obvious political reasons), and today it’s called the Outpost nAT. Available in several sizes, this tire intended for off-road excursions is also very effective in winter, both in snow and on ice. It is certified as its compound remains flexible for use in both winter and summer.

It's an interesting option to consider. In fact, my own Jeep TJ has been equipped with these tires since their debut, for both winter and summer, and they are certainly up to the task while remaining relatively quiet (as much as a TJ can be!).

And if your truck is a bit more robust, take a look at the LT3 version of the Hakkapeliitta range. We have a set right now on a Chevrolet Express 2500 van.

The Nordman 7

Since Nordman is part of the Nokian group (they are generally former Nokian products rebranded for the occasion), you can always choose that tire in its Nordman 7 SUV version.

Bridgestone and Firestone
The Japanese manufacturer Bridgestone offers an interesting range of winter tires, which includes the Blizzak LT and DM-V2 as well as the W965 designed for commercial trucks. All those products already have an unshakeable reputation that makes them a serious choice.

The Winterforce LT

On the other hand, keep in mind the American brand Firestone, which belongs to Bridgestone. It also has its share of winter products to offer, under the name Winterforce. Those tires come in various versions, including the basic LT, 2 UV and Winterforce 2, as well as the Winterforce CV for light commercial vehicles.

Continental
Obviously, German giant Continental offers a complete range of winter tires for trucks, the most representative of which are the TerrainContact A/T and H/T.

We should also highlight Continental's involvement in the commercial sector with its VanContact Winter.

For those looking for more aggressive winter tires, you should turn to Continental's American division, General Tire, which offers various models, including the Grabber Arctic LT.
