Therefore, it’s always best to opt for actual, dedicated winter tires that have been tested by various experts in the field. As a side note, there are not that many brand-new winter tire products for cars and SUVs this year, a lingering consequence of the pandemic.
Nokian
The latest Hakkapeliitta 10 from Finnish manufacturer Nokian remains one of the best winter tires available on the market. Of course, it's not necessarily cheap but when it comes to safety, this Nokian is at the top of the list. And so far, we have discovered that it is also very durable. Incidentally, it is available in a studded version which is very useful in regions where the roads are often covered with ice.
Nokian also offers the all-new Hakkapeliitta R5, which is a logical (and improved) continuation of the excellent R3 and is available in an EV version for electric vehicles, as well as the Nordman 7, which is nothing more or less than a discounted version of the previous generation Hakkapeliitta.
