Continental
Three years ago, the German manufacturer introduced a new winter tire better adapted to our needs, the Ice Contact XTRM. I put it to the test on a Ford Escape and it will soon be in its third season. In both urban and highway situations, the little SUV equipped with these tires proved to be stable and biting on ice and snow. Wear is minimal and so far, we can only recommend it.
If you insist on studded tires, the XTRM is available with studs that are glued into the tread.

Otherwise, Continental has several other great winter tires, including the very popular Viking Contact 7. However, for smaller budgets, let's also mention the General Tire Altimax products (from the Continental family) that have greatly satisfied many users over the past few years.
