Cooper Discoverer
U.S.-based company Cooper is one of the big boys of tire manufacturing. In business for over a century (it started out as M & M Tires in 1914), the tire maker specializes in producing affordable products, and it also manufactures tires for several other brands.
In recent years, Cooper has also been producing more-advanced tires under its own name with the aim of going after the demanding-customer market. And so it is that it also now offers winter tires designed for SUVs and pickups.
One of them is the Discoverer M+S, well-suited for SUVs and small pickups. Also under the Cooper banner is the more-aggressive X/T4, basically an all-seasons tire but one that is very well-adapted for heavier work, including heavy duty truck models.
Cooper tires are generally more affordably priced products that don’t perform quite as well on ices as the premier models from the big tire companies, but they’ll meet the needs of most general-use motorists.
