Siemens will use the DistribuTECH conference in San Diego to showcase its lineup of EV charging stations for consumers and businesses.

Commercial charging stations will allow two vehicles to charge simultaneously, provide 24/7 assistance and deliver instant billing. Drivers will also be able to use a smartphone application to plan their routes, locate stations and monitor battery status.

Meanwhile, home charging stations will offer in-wall installation and charge a single vehicle at a time.

With sales of EVs such as the Nissan LEAF and Chevrolet Volt expected to grow in the next few years, analysts predict that 974,000 charging stations will be available across the U.S. by 2015.
