We welcome the transformed new Corvette with a look back at the ways it was in years past

17. 1984 Corvette

Production of the next-generation C4 Corvette having been delayed, there was no 1983 model offered to consumers. Which meant that all Corvettes produced that year were 1984 models. The first of them was produced starting in the spring of 1983. The new C4 was a quick and raging success, despite the fact its selling price jumped to $23,360 USD.

18. 1990 Corvette

In a sign of the advancing times as the automotive world entered the 1990s, the 1990 Corvette for the first time included a driver’s side airbag, and second-generation ABS brakes made their first appearance. These proved an invaluable asset on the ZR-1 models, able to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in only 4.5 seconds. Because of the ever-rising asking price, however, Corvette sales continued to drop. By this point a new Corvette coupe set buyers back more than $32,000.
