Honda diesels are coming
Yes, you can currently buy a gasoline-electric hybrid Civic or Accord. But Honda's long-term strategy seems to be fuel cells and clean diesels.
With that in mind, the company presented their next-generation diesel engine that uses a new catalytic converter that reduces NOx (oxides of nitrogen) emissions to a level that enables the engine to meet the stringent United States Environmental Protection Agency Tier II/Bin 5 requirements. All Honda officials are saying now is that this engine will make it into production within the next three years.
