First introduced at the 2002 Chicago Auto Show, this concept is one of many brainchilds of Hyundai's California Design studios. The imposing HCD-7 is a futuristic hi-luxury sedan that would be positioned well above the XG350. The 7 is powered by a 270 hp 4.5L V8 mated to a 5-speed automatic that drives the front wheels and is equipped with air suspension in all four corners. Its aviation inspired lines are very aerodynamic.
To improve the feeling of a roomier cabin, the HCD-7 has no centre console in which the radio, HVAC and navigation systems would normally be located. The missing accessories are controlled by a large touch-screen LCD display comes out of the dash when the key is in the on position.
Hyundai has no plans of producing this concept.
