Hyundai News:

The big news from the Korean manufacturer has to do with the arrival of the all-new 2006 Hyundai Sonata. Production has already begun in their new Alabama plant. This marks the first Hyundai built in the USA. Oddly, the 4 cylinder models will be assembled in Korea and the V6s, in Montgomery. No pricing has been announced for the moment. The new sedan will feature stability control and traction control as standard equipment on all trim levels, and will include 6 airbags: dual front and side as well as side curtains. The new Sonata is bigger inside and outside than the outgoing model. As for engines, it is powered by a 162-horsepower, 2.4-litre inline-4, or a 237-horsepower 3.3-litre V6. The Korean brand claims the V6 model to be quicker than a Honda Accord V6. It will be available in showrooms sometime between the months of April and May 2005.

The all-new Tucson, out and about for a few months now, is Hyundai's first real compact SUV. It can be delivered with a 140 hp 2.0L 4-cylinder or a 173 hp 2.7L V6. The Tucson can be had as either a front or an all-wheel drive vehicle. Its standard feature list includes ABS brakes, traction and stability control.  The price range is between $19,995 and $28,725.

The Accent5 is simply a 5-door version of the very popular Accent. It should sell well as all hatchbacks are especially appreciated in Quebec.

The Elantra 5 door is now available in lower trim levels like the sedan. Because of the popularity of the hatchback, Hyundai thought it wise to make it more affordable and attainable for more potential buyers.
