Rookie driver David Ostella was testing his Indy Lights Firestone on the one-mile oval in Milwaukee when he lost control of his car and went straight into the concrete wall.
David Ostella is a 19-year-old from Toronto, Ontario who drives the No. 16 Indy Lights car of Jenson MotorSport.
The Canadian raced in Star Mazda series in 2008 and 2009 before he graduated to the Indy Lights series this year.
Ostella had this nasty crash on the infamous Milwaukee Mile when testing for the race.
The youngster lost control of the rear end of the car when exiting the last corner. He corrected but the car went straight into the barrier that separates the track from the pit lane. The team estimated that the impact happened at over 200 km/h.
Ostella was lucky not to be injured but the car was severely damaged. The carbon fibre tub resisted very well to the violent impact.
