Ganassi’s Scott Dixon barely edged Team Penske’s Will Power and finally earned pole for this Sunday upcoming IndyCar race presented at the Belle Isle circuit in Detroit.

Dixon had to wait on his final lap to post the best time of the session, beating series’ leader Power by a margin of only 0.0044 seconds.

An excellent day for Alex Tagliani (Bryan Herta Autosport) who took third spot with his new Honda engine while Schmidt Hamilton's Simon Pagenaud was fourth and KV Racing's EJ Viso completed the top 5.
