If there are still some people out there who are convinced that hybrids just aren’t capable of anything remotely exciting, Infiniti will shut them up for good with the M35h, which made it into the Guinness Book of World Records as the fastest full hybrid in the world, flying over 400 metres (or a quarter mile) in an average of 13.9031 seconds.
That puts it on par with the 1982 Lamborghini Countach and just a few seconds off certain Porsches, Ferraris and Aston Martins. Inspired Performance indeed.
The M35h is equipped with a 3.5-litre engine coupled with a 50-kW electric motor powered by a lithium-ion battery; it deploys a total of 360 hp via a seven-speed autobox.
The Japanese automaker claims the M35h sips just 6.9 L/100 km.
