At the end of Friday’s practice session for the upcoming IndyCar race on the Infineon circuit, Dario Franchitti (Ganassi) had the best over main rival and series’ leader Will Power (Penske).

That unofficial battle ended with a mere 0.0041 seconds separating the two drivers. Dario Franchitti had won the event last year while Will Power was seriously injured during the same week-end.

Once again, Alex Tagliani proved that he was a force to be reckoned with as he settled for third in the final seconds. Ganassi's Scott Dixon and Justin Wilson (Dreyer & Reinbold) rounded up the top five.

There will be another practice session Saturday morning while qualifications will be held in the afternoon.
